Business Operations Analyst

The Business Operations Analyst position analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. Collaborates with internal clients to modify or tailor existing analysis or reports to meet their specific needs. May participate in management reviews, including presenting and interpreting analysis results, summarizing conclusions, and recommending a course of action. This is a general role in which employee will work with multiple types of business data. May be internal operations-focused or external client-focused.  This role will prepare monthly compliant reports for fee reporting to purchasing agencies and ensure payments are processed timely.

Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

  • Provides analytics, problem solving foundation including, definition and documentation, and specifications
  • Recognizes and documents changes to existing business processes and identifies new opportunities for process development and improvements
  • Reviews, researches, analyzes and evaluates all data relating to business analytics becoming a subject matter expert for the North America operations team. 
  • Extracts data from SAP S4 operating system to support all aspects of business operations program, format and prepare dashboards in Power BI
  • Conducts analysis and uses analytical skills to identify root cause and assist with problem management as it relates to contractual or reporting requirements
  • Prepares user documentation and training materials as needed
  • Updates sales database with Group Purchasing Information (GPO)
  • Reviews all orders for GPO reporting and discounting requirements

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Suite with large emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint capabilities desired.
  • Clearly defines expectations and articulates ideas, thoughts and views.
  • Provides frank, direct, and timely feedback to others. Results-oriented. Likes to be in charge and be influential. Is driven by achieving extraordinary results and leading others. Excellent aptitude for holding self and others accountable to a high standard of performance and must be able to manage multiple management inputs to a consistent result.
  • SAP S4
  • Ability to work extra hours as required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Ability to work, report and deliver results remotely
  • Ability to audit data, verify reports and correct as necessary
  • Ability to query databases
  • Ability to interface with internal customers
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational and follow up skills
  • Salesforce or similar customer sales database
  • Construction product manufacturing experience of construction service experience
