Job Summary

The role of the Supervisor is to oversee, monitor and coordinate team activities in the assigned area, focusing on individual performance and overall team’s achievement of established goals.  The incumbent focuses on manpower planning, performance management, quality control, safety, developing employees by meeting training goals, process improvements and meeting production demands.

Major Responsibilities:

Health & Safety Management

  • Educate employees on safety standards and ensure compliance
  • Ensure incidents and near misses are reported and investigated
  • Deliver weekly safety meetings
  • BRI program education/monitoring/improvement
  • Positive behaviour recognition for high safety standards

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Follow the MS168 tier 1 & 2 process to identify issues
  • Monitor & Use OEE/OBE data to identify CI opportunities
  • Use six sigma tools such as DMAIC, VSM, 5 whys, 5S to drive changes that reduce defects and improve efficiencies
  • maintenance of the small k (kaizen) process

People Development/Management

  • Hire manufacturing employees in accordance with the recruitment process
  • Help people develop the skills required to be successful
  • Manpower planning
  • Use the Performance scorecard to assess performance & provide employee feedback twice annually

​ Administrative Duties

  • Payroll approvals, emails, record keeping/data analysis for Tier board metrics


  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years working as a Production Team Leader
  • High School Graduate is required
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of SAP & MS office is required
  • Strong people skills for team building are essential to this position
  • Experience with improvement methodologies such as Six-sigma, TPM, TWI etc. considered an asset
  • Must be available to rotate through all 3 shifts
