Job Description

Tremco's Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing division is currently searching for a Program Manager - Compliance & Regulatory Affairs. This individual will contribute to the product compliance within Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing division. They will support compliance for all products in the Sealants division, ensuring that upcoming regulations and trends are evaluated and communicated to the division. In addition, the Program Manager will provide support for any products impacted by regulations through project management and project work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops the business case to address regulatory standards and issues. Offer business options to be considered. Formulate action plans with defined objectives, targets and responsibilities to support agreed upon strategies.
  • Communicate to the business about potential impact of legislative issues related to green chemistry, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), product performance, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and other regulatory impacts.
  • Protect and represent business interests in the evolution and development of environmental standards and documents at regulatory and guiding agencies such as the Adhesive and Sealant Council and American Coating Association.
  • Work with designated lobbyist to advise and recommend the divisional policy in matters that have a direct impact on business as related to environmental policies.
  • Maintain status and collaboratively engage and represent business interests at the following organizations: USGBC, ASC/ASC-GR, NSF, Cal-EPA, Cal Air Districts, TSCA Reform, EPA, OTC and others as deemed strategic to the business.
  • Functions as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Product Line Managers interpreting regulations and impacts to create proactive response within product portfolios. Also, will support any project work associate with these actions.
  • Develops the business case to address sustainability as it related to priority chemicals, green chemistry and industry compliance. Offer business options to be considered. Formulate action plans with defined objectives, targets and responsibilities to support agreed upon strategies.
  • Develop a coordinated sustainability plan with the division's internal groups (plant management, engineering, EHS, R&D, marketing). Recommend specific value-added sustainability marketing plans for promoting the sustainable efforts of the business.
  • Manage internal sustainable initiatives and provide appropriate communication to capture and prioritize the issues and concerns, Recommend regulatory business decision and work to ensure that the decisions are executed on.
  • Educate sales representatives on sustainable building initiatives and provide the sales force with essential tools to discuss the sustainable design solutions and services offered to the targeted architectural/specification community.
  • Build partnerships with external organizations to support sustainability and regulatory efforts. Collaborate with designated consultants to understand legislation and standards at the community, state, national, and global level as related to regulation, compliance and sustainability.
  • Evaluate opportunities to address the growing need for sustainable building solutions that fit into the operating portfolio of the division and provide recommendations for the business.
  • Share and garner information from other RPM companies as well as outside organizations as appropriate to create a direction for the business that aligns with our strategic vision.
  • Manage projects associated with product development to address regulatory actions.


  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Architecture, or Engineering or related field from four-year college or university


  • Minimum eight years' experience in a highly regulated industry required with experience within a regulatory framework and working with regulatory authorities or lobbyists
  • Project Management experience preferred

  • Able to understand regulations and how they apply to Tremco Incorporated
  • Travel within North America up to 30%
