Job Description

Quality Engineer

Tremco Incorporated has been a world leader in solving complex waterproofing and roofing problems for commercial, institutional and industrial accounts since 1928.  Our facility in Cleveland, Ohio manufactures Roofing felts and liquid coatings for Built-Up Roofing systems.  We currently have an opportunity for an energetic, positive, detailed, process focused individual to perform the duties of a Quality Engineer.  This individual will work with a strong and motivated team of support personnel, seasoned employees backed by a committed management team.  We are looking for someone to help drive and share in Tremco’s growth and improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze raw materials and finished goods using SOP’s. This will involve the use equipment such as of automatic titration, moisture analyzers, sieve analysis, viscometers  and  Instron tensile equipment.
  • Equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Statistical analysis of QC and production data using Minitab software to determine trends, identify issues. and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain lab to 5S workplace organization standards.
  • Train production operators to perform QC tests.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement kaizen events.
  • Maintain and update UL, FM and other 3rd party product files.
  • Maintain documents and standards to meet our ISO Quality system.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • The successful candidate should have an associate Technical Degree or College diploma in Chemistry or related field
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience working in a Quality Control lab
  • Must have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Willingness to embrace change and learn
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with database management systems, statistical software and MRP software (SAP experience preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a team environment are essential to this position
  • Must be willing and able to work in a multi shift environment
