Tremco CPG  represents the combined power of Dryvit Systems, Nudura Inc., Willseal, and Tremco Incorporated’s Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing and Roofing & Building Maintenance divisions, along with affiliates Weatherproofing Technologies (WTI) and Weatherproofing Technologies Canada.

Tremco has an open position for a  Construction Science Laboratory Manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility including the building of test specimens, test equipment utilization, and maintenance, coordination of daily activities to execute testing strategies, meet testing and reporting deadlines,  accommodate customer visits, lead the site’s safety program and maintain the lab space as a showcase.   This position will need to understand the testing methodology,  engineering standards, industry performance evaluation process es and building science principles that support the  Tremco Construction Products Group product lines in the built environment.  


Adaptability Competency: 

  • Plan and execute testing in accordance with industry standards and/or customer requirements. 
  • Take general direction from a multitude of sources to prioritize and conduct testing
  • Ability to work with numerous types of construction materials to create testing bucks. 
  • Ability to work all types of construction equipment: saws, nail guns, drills, etc.  

Initiative Competency: 

  • Receive, evaluate, and prioritize testing submissions, coordinated with input from  Sales ,  Segment Management,  Product Line Management, R&D and Technical Services.
  • Seek and document modes of failure in assemblies and suggest potential solutions.
  • Develop the preventative maintenance plan to keep laboratory operational.  

Resourceful Competency: 

  • Work directly with Procurement on the acquisition of materials and construction needs for all testing.
  • Construct and test wall assemblies. 
  • Repair, restore and maintain all pieces of equipment in the laboratory. 
  • Run WUFI assimilations as required.  

Communication Competency: 

  • Document and publish testing findings within the PPOG and PDT protocols and within monthly reporting out on defined KPI’s. 
  • Ensure results for all testing are summarized, shared and documented appropriately.  
  • Provide guidance on code compliance and applicable testing for CPG product lines. 
  • Present vision of the laboratory and tested system to internal and external audiences. 
  • Support customer visits and events at the facility by presenting on concepts and systems, developing testing strategies, and providing tours of the testing capabilities.    

Collaboration Competency: 

  • Manage, train and supervise the assigned departmental Application Specialists. 
  • Participate as required in Industry Associations, division meetings and PPOG projects. 

Accountability Competency: 

  • Plan, implement and maintain Tremco’s Safety Program at the facility. 
  • Manage and maintain all critical equipment including the LabView software platform. 


  • Two  plus years related supervisory experience and/or training  in testing methodology,  engineering standards, industry  performance  evaluation process es, and  building science principles
  • BA or BS in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering,  Civil Engineering, Material Science, or related field preferred. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of applying construction testing industry standards 
  • Two to five years’ experience applying construction testing industry standards
  • Proficient with Power Tools, Carpentry or Builder
  • Working knowledge of Industry Testing Standards
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)                                                                   l
