Job Description

The Euclid Chemical Company is searching for individuals with strong communication skills and service-orientation to join the team as Customer Service Representative.

This will begin as a temporary position, EITHER part time or full-time (to be determined), with the potential for converting to regular employee status, after a period of three- six months. 

Basic Function:

This position is responsible for providing a superior level of service to our customers and strong sales support to our sales representatives and managers.  Customer Service processes all sales orders. It is their main responsibility to ensure that all orders are entered into SAP, shipped and billed correctly and promptly. 

Major Responsibilities:

In the area of Customer Service, the Customer Service Representative is expected to:

  • Handle incoming calls for orders/inquiries.
  • Enter orders into SAP, same day as received
  • Make sure all information is complete and accurate. 
  • Provide pertinent info to rep/customer.
  • Coordinate shipments for job site deliveries.
  • Ensure all orders are shipped and billed promptly and accurately.
  • Process customer complaints, including writing of complaint form, issuing return authorizations and obtaining appropriate approvals.
  • Ensure all approved paperwork is on file for exceptions.
  • Enter job quotes as supplied by sales reps.
  • Process returns
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all interfacing departments (credit, accounting, inventory control, traffic, purchasing, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with team members, managers, and personnel in internal department whose functions indirectly affect the service to our customers.
  • General understanding of geography in order to ship materials from multiple warehouses throughout the US.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and/or at least 2+ years Customer Service background in a high paced office environment 
  • Experience of Customer Services within Manufacturing Industry preferred.
  • Prior SAP or MRP experience preferable

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages; analytical abilities (recognize errors, evaluate trends, anticipate difficulties

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Organizational Skills: Must be well organized and keep clear concise records;  must have high degree of flexibility and ability to multitask

Initiative: Proactive and look for areas of improvement

Teamwork: Must be a team player and have a “can do” attitude
