Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Graphic Designer works closely with the Label and Marketing Communications teams in both Sealants and Roofing on a variety of products and activities including label design and layout, product packaging, advertising, promotional collateral, website elements, exhibitions and displays and corporate communications and corporate identity, ensuring a cohesive visual brand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works simultaneously on 5+ projects based on current client workload across Sealant and Roofing divisions.
  • Creates layouts and visual aspects of marketing materials, websites and other media, including info-graphics, ensures adherence to brand standards.
  • Compiles disparate elements of a design created by another professional, such as the icons, photographs and other components necessary for a website design.
  • Consults with product management, marketing communications and at times outside vendors to create and refine cohesive designs that reflect corporate culture and goals.
  • Designs artwork for product labeling (e.g., defines format/graphic requirements) by using departmental computer graphics software from input provided by Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Engineering and other departments.
  • Procures foreign languages translations by forwarding English formatted text to translation agency.

EDUCATION:

Associates's degree in Graphic Design or equivalent (Visual Communication) from two-year college or technical school.

EXPERIENCE:

Two to four years graphic design/digital media experience or interactive multimedia development experience.

None

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, specifically with layouts, mock-ups, web design and multimedia presentation.
  • Proficiency in working with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of graphic design.
  • Ability to quickly understand new systems and functionality.
  • Good communication skills, vernal and written as well as listening.
  • Creative problem solver who can look for new trends and technologies to enhance our experiences.
  • Ability to effortlessly articulate their creative vision to internal customers.
  • Proven and effective design experience.
  • Able to efficiently prioritize multiple projects while keeping a critical eye on all of the details.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript a plus
  • Experience in SAP a plus
