Job Description

Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing (CS&W) division is currently searching for a Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will support all manufacturing and facility needs by repairing and/or maintaining any and all equipment necessary to do all jobs. This individual will assist in the installation and startup of new equipment to support all manufacturing and facility needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine general/preventative maintenance to ensure machines continue to operate safely and efficiently, and that systems operate efficiently and physical condition of equipment and buildings do not deteriorate.
  • Respond to manufacturing and facility needs in a safe, timely and effective manner to minimize production and operations downtime. 
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, and filters.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical components, plumbing, machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them using prints, manuals and/or catalogs as necessary.
  • Knowledge or rubber extruders/molding presses helpful but not necessary.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electric, air systems and hydraulic systems.
  • Operate wire and stick welding equipment and brazing torches.
  • Operate cutting and other machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, drill press).
  • Fabricate jigs and fixtures and equipment needed to optimize production processes.
  • Operate tow-motor and scissor lift.
  • Maintain maintenance area and parts stores in orderly and neat conditions.
  • Follow up on work to assure problems are resolved or operations continue safely and effectively.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


  • Minimum two years experience in general maintenance
  • Experience in 480 volt 3 phase electricity strongly preferred

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Perform work in a safe manner and follow all shop safety rules.
  • Capable of installing, programming and troubleshooting PLC, AC/DC drive motors preferred.
  • Demonstrated safe work record and reliable attendance record.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tag out, confined space entry and hot work permit.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, ability to meet a deadline.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and responses urgently to down equipment.
  • Effective Team Player, self-motivated and quick learner.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English and effectively between coworkers and production workers and supervision.

Other Qualifications:

  • Certified electrician is a plus
  • OSHA safety certification preferred
