Job Description

The Sealants operation is seeking a detail-oriented person. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Team Developers and is responsible for the operation of mixing equipment to make batches for the Sealants department. According to established formula and standard work instructions, incumbents weigh, measure and mix materials; tests completed batches; obtains raw material; moves finished stock; cleans and maintains equipment between batches. This position requires a certified material handling equipment operator with strong communication skills.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Follow documented procedures
  • Operate various types of equipment required for manufacturing and filling
  • Accurate measuring and dispensing of raw materials
  • Test batches according to specifications
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards - sweep area, clean tools, etc.
  • Make minor repairs to equipment.
  • Complete all necessary production related paperwork
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and production reporting
  • Participate in daily tier meetings and monthly safety meetings
  • Abide by all safety rules and procedures


  • Ability to complete an assigned task with minimum supervision
  • Proven ability as a strong team player
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Able to operate in an area where there is heat, noise, dirt & dust
  • Requires proper fitting of PPE (vapour mask) for respiratory protection
  • Computer knowledge would be an asset
  • Must be willing and able to work in a multi-shift environment, specifically 2nd or 3rd shift
