Job Description

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for execution of day-to-day designing, writing and coordination of marketing materials. Projects and activities may include print design, web design and video editing/production.

Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

  • Develop new marketing literature and edit/update existing items.
  • Develop videos for YouTube audience and for internal training.
  • Develop trade advertising.
  • Keep TBS website updated with most current information and files.
  • Assist with product launches – development of strategy for the various audiences, conceptual development of approach, materials for inclusion.
  • Respond to requests from distributors and Territory Managers for new materials (ads, flyers, POS materials).
  • Development of project profiles.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of print and electronic communications to internal and external audiences.   
  • Help plan and execute divisional participation in trade shows including reserving booth space, implementation of booth design and maintenance, staffing, promotion, and Calls for Papers among other activities. Assistance with materials for regional shows including development of tabletop displays.
  • Work with other TBS employees on day-to-day needs that come up.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, marketing or a related field.
  • Two to five years related experience and/or training in marketing, copywriting and design including multimedia, press releases, white papers, blogs and marketing materials.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including for electronic media.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite– specifically Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, AfterEffects a plus
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. 
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. 
  • Ability to write copy for marketing pieces using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Design of color materials and proofreading documents.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Organized and results-oriented, take-charge individual with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
  • Occasional local travel to jobsites to do photography or interviews.
