Job Description

Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing division is currently searching for an OEM Sales Representative in the Houston or Dallas, Texas area. The OEM Sales Representative is responsible for the following:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  

The OEM Sales representative is responsible for the developing and executing a growth plan for the assigned territory that aligns with the key Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) markets including, but not limited to, transportation, modular and specialty OEM applications.    This role will be proficient at key account management, penetrating new accounts and assisting with entrance into new markets.   This person will have competitive nature, be results orientated and demonstrated success at developing and closing new business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

List the job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Include all important aspects of the job -- whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually; and any that occur at irregular intervals. 

  • Develops a territory strategy that is aligned with our OEM business plan
  • Drive territory sales to achieved annual sales objectives
  • Represents Tremco’s OEM products and solutions to customer accounts as the single point of contact in the designated territory
  • Supports all existing customer accounts, protecting existing business, and leads the development of new profitable growth in existing and new customers; balances customer retention and new business growth
  • Drives business development across territory that aligns with the OEM business strategy and ensures appropriate opportunity qualification
  • Effectively executes pricing and margin management strategies through value selling
  • Accountable for defining appropriate level of customer and technical service support, and for execution of new sales opportunities
  • Takes a proactive approach to understanding the technical components and industry applications of the OEM product line offering
  • Responsible for providing Voice of the Customer and competitive intelligence to the commercial team

LEVEL OF INDEPENDENCE

  • Individual is expected to function with high-degree of independence once clear goals and expectations are established.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or HS diploma with four years of experience within the transportation or construction industries.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales in a construction, OEM, or other technical specification environments.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated success utilizing a consistent selling process including closing new business
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude
  • Requires strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, build and maintain productive business relationships
  • Demonstrated success in account/territory development including developing profitable new business (both in new and existing accounts)
  • Skilled in value selling and negotiation
  • Results oriented, team player who is confident working independently
  • Ability to travel 40-60%

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Suitable home office workplace to conduct work
  • Salesforce / CRM experience a plus
