Job Description

Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing Division is seeking a Product Manager I/II at our corporate headquarters in Beachwood, Ohio. The  Product Manager I/II  is  responsible for ensuring Tremco is properly addressing the changing needs of the market place as it relates to our product line offerings for the Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing market segments in North America. This high-energy position will support our high-performance building envelope strategy from a marketing perspective with an emphasis on the technical aspects of the products and  the connectivity between adjacent building enclosure systems.  This critical, hands-on position plays an integral role in the day to day tactical operations and the strategic growth of the product line.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • ​ Begin to understand the features and capabilities of the products, how they relate to customer benefits and uses, and how the product compares to competitive or substitute products and solutions.  
  • Identify testing and performance gaps in the Tremco offering and work with Technical Services and R&D to address them. 
  • Participate, and at times lead, presentations at regional meetings 
  • Begin to build solid understanding of the market size and competitive landscape for your lines. 
  • Lead and manage on cross-functional teams as needed related to product or process improvements for the product line 
  • Track competitive launches/activity and maintain a competitive landscape tracker to assist in the identification of new product improvements/opportunities 
  • Work closely with market managers and business analytics to determine market opportunities for the products that they are responsible for. 
  • Execute all duties within the framework of the budget for the current fiscal year. 
  • Conduct proof on concept work for all PPOG projects that fall within the line . 
  • Support Market managers with development and coordination of product launches and product promotions 
  • Work closely with Marketing Communications team on product and brand messaging. 
  • Own all product line content that is on our website and work closely with Tech Services and Marketing Communications  to ensure content remains accurate and current. 
  • Work closely with Tech Service and Operations to resolve product issues 
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to help facilitate accurate forecasts 
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Work closely with other functional areas to develop and maintain accurate sales tools, such as brochures or presentations  
  • Own’s product launches and the marketing tasks associated with them. 
  • Own and manage the day-to-day activities of the product line and work with market manager to create a business plan to define the go-forward strategy.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Intimately understand the features and capabilities of the products, how they relate to customer benefits and uses, and how the product compares to competitive or substitute products and solutions.
  • Identify testing and performance gaps in the Tremco offering and work with Technical Services and R&D to address them.
  • Attend and present at select trade shows/conferences as needed
  • Present at regional and national sales meetings.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams as needed related to product or process improvements for the product line Lead contact for international and inter-company inquiries and requests
  • Take the lead in managing interns and co-ops.
  • Work closely with market managers on developing business plans and product line strategy.
  • Execute all duties within the framework of the budget for the current fiscal year.
  • Conduct proof on concept work for all projects that fall within the line.
  • Take the lead with development and coordination of product promotions, in addition to supporting the market managers in their efforts.
  • Work closely with Marketing Communications on product and brand messaging.
  • Own all product line content that is on our website and work closely with Technical Services and Marketing Communications to ensure content remains accurate and current.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations to help facilitate accurate forecasts.
  • Work closely with New Business Development on Mergers & Acquisitions, as well as evaluating new technologies.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives as needed
  • Work closely with other functional areas to develop and maintain accurate sales tools, such as brochures or presentations.
  • Own’s product launches and the marketing tasks associated with them.
  • Own and manage the day-to-day activities of the product line and create a business plan to define the go-forward strategy.
  • Own’s the product line’s overall health and profitability.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, plus two to four years’ related experience and/or training such as internships. MBA preferred.

Two to four years related experience and/or training

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to grasp technical details
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to understand relationships and connections and generate charts, graphs, spreadsheets and written summaries.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to take direction well
  • Ability to travel
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. CAD and/or SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, effective team player, self-motivated, quick learner.
