Job Description

Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing division is currently searching for Production Associates at our Ashland plant.  These positions provide manufacturing support by performing activities that keep production lines running while maintaining quality. There are two roles: Helper and Operator.

Helper

The Helper position provides Operators with support by performing activities that keep Operators focused on running Extrusion or Tape Room lines while maintaining quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform work in a safe manner while following all safety rules
  • Pack finished goods into appropriate containers
  • Perform offline production operations as needed
  • Feed raw material into an Extruder while maintaining a feed ball
  • Support Operator in starting up the run as directed
  • Assist with clean up and changeover at the end of a run
  • Remove empty skids and place them in designated area
  • Build packaging at the line and in packaging area as needed
  • Perform daily housekeeping of areas including the disposal of any plastic, cardboard, or any recyclables in the proper containers and emptying trash at the end of the shift

Operator

The Operator effectively and safely operates production lines with limited scrap and minimized startup for a variety of products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in a safe manner while following all safety rules
  • Produce product according to tolerances on blueprints
  • Perform routine measurements per quality standards
  • Read and interpret extrusion instructions
  • Maintain accurate paperwork
  • Correctly package and label products
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties: sweep, mop, chip salt, skim, and maintain 5S areas
  • Setup and operate various off-line and secondary equipment to include: cutters, tape machines, punch press, hot box, and reeling machine

Education

  • High school diploma/GED required OR equivalent manufacturing experience in lieu of education

Experience

  • No prior experience or training needed; rubber molding experience preferred

Other Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team environment; self-motivated and quick learner
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, use calipers, scales, comparators, and other means of measurement
  • Ability to read measurements and work through problems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain accurate counts and figures to ensure proper reporting of production and inventory
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English
