Technical Application Specialist - Air Barriers

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Technical Application Specialist ensures proper application of Commercial Sealant & Waterproofing products in accordance with company and industry guidelines by providing on-site and problem resolution assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with general on-site product applications, general substrate review.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Product Line technical literature, 3rd party testing certification/approvals and product recommendations.
  • Assist in the collection of laboratory data for project or product-specific testing.
  • Assist and perform field and in-house/analytical lab testing to confirm the compatibility of Tremco products on specified jobs, for new areas of application, new products, and competitive product analysis.
  • Assist with the development and review of sales product literature, application instructions, and maintain/update field training manuals.
  • Observe jobsites with customers and field sales reps to make product and installation recommendations and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Write letters of installation instructions, job parameters, and competitive product comparisons along with detailed drawings to help make the sale.
  • Provide answers to inquiries on product usage, competitive product comparisons, web-site navigation, product specifications, repairs, problems, environmental regulations, construction, and technical questions.
  • Assure product performance through proper use and field application.
  • Possess basic knowledge of Tremco's products. Learn assigned core product line technology while assisting higher level Application Specialists with occasional direction.
  • Provide written and verbal technical support and product recommendations to the sales force and customers.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Construction, or similar field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • O to 2 years Technical Service, Construction, Customer Service, or similar experience.

 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • OHSA 10 Preferred but not required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with Auto CAD, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in an office, lab, and construction site environments.
