Job Description

Tremco’s Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing team is seeking a Technical Sales Representative in Columbus, Ohio. The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for the identification, penetration, and development of customers within a designated geography to produce the maximum volume of profitable long term, ongoing business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop sales strategies to attract new clients and maintain and grow established relationships.
  • Source new sales opportunities and close sales with existing customers to achieve territory and company sales goals.
  • Manage and negotiate with clients to increase income and revenue by generating leads, identifying and developing qualifying prospects, and adding value to their business.
  • Develop and monitor an annual strategic sales operating plan and provide forecasts and updates monthly.
  • Effectively operate consistently with minimal guidance.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 2 years’ experience in a sales role (sales experience must include significant experience closing deals and prospecting) OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree and no experience, Bachelor’s in Business and sales experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 2 years’ experience in a sales role (sales experience must include significant experience closing deals and prospecting) OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree and no experience, Bachelor’s in Business and sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Selling experience in the residential, multi-family and light commercial segments preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Listening skills
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within territory (Columbus and Cleveland with majority of time spent in Columbus)
  • Time management skills; must be able to successfully demonstrate a history of coordinating time to maximize effectiveness

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Suitable home office work space to conduct work
  • Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
