Job Description

Tremco's Commercial Sealants and Waterproofing division is currently searching for a Technical Service Representative to work from our Beachwood, Ohio campus.  This position reports to the Technical Service Manager and ensures proper application and use of Tremco sealants, adhesives, tapes, gaskets, and IG spacers in accordance with company and industry guidelines by providing on-site application and problem resolution assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assure product performance of IPG specified products through proper use and field applications.
  • Provide over-the-phone, in-plant, and onsite Technical Service support for IPG products.
  • Perform in-house/analytical laboratory testing to confirm the compatibility of Tremco IPG products on specified substrates, new areas of application, new products, and conduct competitive product analysis.
  • Provide written and verbal technical support and product recommendations to the sales force and customers.
  • Participate in sales training and service programs, train applicators on-site, and present product application presentations.
  • Complete quality/plant audits with customers and field sales representatives.
  • Write reports on plant and job site inspections, lab testing, and field trials.
  • Assist with field trials on new product usage, competitive product comparisons, web-site navigation, product specifications, problems, construction, and technical questions.
  • Receive telephone, fax, and e-mailed questions from distributors, plant engineers and managers, owners, and other IPG influencers, plus Tremco sales force, and in-house Tremco employees.
  • Create application instructions for the IPG product line.
  • Assist sales department with competitive product comparisons information. 
  • Assist in the understanding of product complaints and coordinate the formal evaluation of the complaint with sales and QC departments.
  • Assist with the development and review of sales product literature, application instructions, and maintain/update field training manuals.
  • Write and maintain technical bulletins on updated product/technical information for salesforce.
  • Provide technical assistance for sales presentations as requested for a specific customer opportunity and trade shows.
  • Maintain product certification letters required in modular submittal packages.
  • Review modular submittals for Tremco product usage.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Construction, or similar field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; Technical Service, Construction, Customer Service, or similar experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic knowledge of simple electronic controls.
  • Position requires work in office, lab, and construction site environments.
